Filmmaker to Capture Inclusivity and Diversity in Virginia Wine at “Two Up Wine Down”

Charlottesville, VA — Award-winning documentary filmmaker Chrisa Giorgi will be on site at Two Up Wine Down on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Jefferson School City Center, to film a segment highlighting the role of Oenoverse and The Veraison Project in shaping a more inclusive and diverse Virginia wine community.

Two Up Wine Down, now in its fourth year, is a signature event that brings together Virginia’s finest wines with an atmosphere of connection, music, and joy. With tastings curated by an all-star cast of Virginia wine voices, the event has become a symbol of community, celebration, and the shared values that make Virginia wine unique.

“Virginia wine is at its most powerful when it reflects the richness of the people who make it and the communities who gather around it,” said Giorgi. “Oenoverse and Veraison Project are creating space where inclusivity is not just welcomed but celebrated. Capturing this on film ensures their impact becomes part of the larger story of Virginia wine.”

The filmed segment will become part of Giorgi’s forthcoming documentary on the Virginia wine industry, scheduled for release in 2026.

Brief Explanation of the Documentary Project

The upcoming documentary, directed by filmmaker Chrisa Giorgi, explores the past, present, and future of Virginia wine. The film examines how winemakers, farmers, and communities are shaping a regional identity rooted in resilience, creativity, and care for the land.

One of the central themes of the documentary is diversity and inclusivity in wine. By filming at Two Up Wine Down, Giorgi will spotlight the work of Oenoverse and The Veraison Project, two organizations leading the way in opening doors for underrepresented voices in Virginia’s wine culture. Their efforts embody the belief that wine should not only be about what’s in the glass, but also about who gets to participate, celebrate, and be seen.

The finished film will combine intimate portraits of winemakers, cinematic vineyard imagery, and community-centered moments like Two Up Wine Down. The goal is to inform, educate, and inspire audiences inside and outside Virginia, positioning Virginia wine not only as a growing industry but also as a cultural force.
